Camp tents are made from a variety of materials such as polyester, nylon, polyvinyl chloride and cotton. Manufacturers have utilized these materials in designing different sizes and shapes of tent. One could bodly say that the art of tent making has been well mastered [by tent producers] and with this mastery, comes a variation in price; a tent could cost as low as $80 and the price (of some) could even be over $1,000 [depending on the quality]. Some of the popular and highly revered brands are underlisted:
- REI
REI produces a range of tents that are quite affordable- and widely accepted by campers. Notable among its innovations, are Co-op Kingdom 6 and the Base Camp 6 which are recommended for camping the family.
- NORTH FACE
North face is known for producing quality camp tents but at a high cost. So, this might not be a brand to consider if you do not have the cash. North Face manufactures quite a good number of tents but The North Face Summit series VE 25 Gold- which is built to protect campers from the cold of the winter- deserves a special mention.
- COLEMAN
If there's one thing the Coleman brand is known for in the tent making industry, then that would be the relatively low price of its tents- Coleman's products are about the cheapest in the market. The 'Red Canyon' which cost only $140 is sufficient to house up to eight (8) persons- hence, it should serve the family.
- EUREKA
Eureka is another tent manufacturer that produces low-cost camp tents. Eureka's K-2 XT is a uniquely designed product that should shelter campers on the mountain. This tent is a 4-season kind of tent.
- SIERRA DESIGNS
One characteristic feature of Sierra designs' tents, is the style that is brought into tent making. Hence, for those who might want some fanciful tent design, Sierra designs could probably have something in stock for you.
Other brands that are worthy of note include: Big Agnes, Kelty, MSR Hubba Hubba, Nemo Equipment, Hilleberg Keron and LL.Bean.
